BUNI™ Swim Race (Fun Swim) Regulations

  1. General Information:
    • The event is conducted at Roxy Beach Club, Konyaalti, Antalya, Turkiye.
    • The event start date and time: 28th of May 2023, 08:00 local time.
    • Registration for the event is free.
    • The final registration and numbering will take place from 8:00 to 8:30.
  2. Event Schedule:
    • 9:00: Start of the 500m race for participants born between 2011 and 2014.
    • 9:30: Start of the 500m race for participants born in 2010 or earlier.
    • 10:00: Start of the 1000m race for participants born between 2009 and 2014.
    • 10:45: Start of the 1000m race for participants born in 2008 or earlier.
    • 11:30: Start of the 2000m race.
    • Award ceremonies will be conducted between the races.
  3. Eligibility:
    • Participants must be born in 2014 or earlier to be eligible for the event.
    • Each participant is allowed to register for only one distance: 500m, 1000m, or 2000m.
  4. Award Categories:
    • Children:
      • 9-10 (2013-2014): Participants in this age group can only participate in the 500m and 1000m races.
      • 11-12 (2011-2012): Participants in this age group can only participate in the 500m and 1000m races.
      • 13-14 (2009-2010)
      • 15-16 (2007-2008)
      • 17-18 (2005-2006)
    • Masters:
      • 19-24 (1999-2004)
      • 25-30 (1993-1998)
      • 31-40 (1983-1992)
      • 41-50 (1973-1982)
      • 51+ (1972 and earlier)
    • In each category, the top 3 male and top 3 female participants will receive awards.
  5. Absolute Categories:
    • The event recognises two absolute categories:
      • Masters Absolute: Participants born in 2004 or earlier.
      • Youth Absolute: Participants born between 2005 and 2014.
    • In the absolute categories, the top 3 male and top 3 female participants will receive awards.
    • Participants who receive awards in the absolute categories will not be awarded in other categories.
  6. Awards:
    • The awards include diplomas and gifts provided by the organisers.
  7. Time Limits:
    • The time limits for each distance are as follows:
      • 500m: 30 minutes
      • 1000m: 45 minutes
      • 2000m: 90 minutes
  8. Wetsuits:
    • Participants are allowed to use hydro suits at their own discretion.
    • There is no separate classification for wetsuits.
  9. Health Responsibility:
    • Participants are required to be in good health and physical condition to participate in the event.
    • Participants acknowledge and accept sole responsibility for their own health and well-being during the event.
    • In the case of child participants, the sole responsibility lies with their parents or legal guardians.
    • All participants must sign an agreement acknowledging their own responsibility for their health and conditions during the event.
  10. Organisers’ Liability:
    • The event is non-commercial and organised by a group of volunteers.
    • The organisers shall not be liable for any issues or incidents that may occur during the event.
    • Participants agree that the organisers, being volunteers, are not responsible for any injuries, damages, or losses sustained during the event, including but not limited to accidents, illnesses, or property damage.
  11. Personal Data Protection:
    • By participating in the event, participants give explicit consent to the event team to collect, store, and use their personal data in accordance with the Turkish Republic's Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698, dated April 7, 2016 (KVKK).
    • The event team will handle participants' personal data in compliance with the KVKK.
    • Participants have the right to access, rectify, and delete their personal data held by the event team by submitting a written request.
  12. Media and Publicity:
    • By participating in the event, participants grant permission to the event team and its sponsors to use photographs, video footage, and other recorded materials that contain participants in the event.
    • The event team and its sponsors may use these materials for social media, advertisement materials, and other promotional activities.
    • Participants understand and agree that they will not receive any compensation or royalties for the use of such materials.

By participating in the event, all participants confirm that they have read, understood, and agreed to abide by these BUNI™ Swim Race (Fun Swim) Regulations and acknowledge their own responsibility for their health and conditions during the event.

Appendix: Race Routes

The following race routes are provided as a guideline for the swimming event. However, please note that the event team reserves the right to change the race routes in case of unforeseen situations, poor weather conditions, or other external events that may affect the safety and integrity of the competition. Any changes to the race routes will be communicated to participants prior to the event.

Note: The race routes mentioned above are provided for illustrative purposes and may vary based on the specific event location and conditions.

Please note that the race routes may be subject to change due to factors beyond the event team's control. These factors include but are not limited to safety concerns, poor weather conditions, water conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances. The event team is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants and will make any necessary route changes to mitigate potential risks.

Participants will be informed of any changes to the race routes through official communication channels such as email, event websites, or social media platforms. It is the participants' responsibility to stay updated with any announcements or notifications regarding the race routes.

The event team appreciates the understanding and cooperation of all participants in the event of any necessary changes to the race routes. The primary concern is to provide a safe and enjoyable swimming experience for all participants, and any modifications will be made with the best interests of the participants in mind.
